Expert, Health & Safety
Job Description:
1. Health & Safety Policy & Strategy
Develop, enhance, and implement Health & Safety policies in accordance with government regulations (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, environmental standards, Process Safety Management) and relevant international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, SMK3, NFPA, OSHA/PSM).
Create short-term and long-term strategic plans for Health & Safety to support company objectives.
2. Process Safety Management (PSM)
Develop and oversee the implementation of PSM systems across all production and support processes, including hazard analysis, mechanical integrity, management of change, and emergency response planning.
Build a PSM team and conduct regular PSM audits to ensure proper implementation and continuous improvement.
Provide PSM training for operators, supervisors, and management.
3. Fire Brigade Team Management
Lead and develop the competencies of the internal Fire Brigade Team.
Develop and implement an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) based on identified emergency potentials and conduct regular drills to evaluate its effectiveness.
Ensure fire protection equipment (hydrants, fire extinguishers, detectors, sprinklers, SCBA, and other emergency gear) is always ready and meets established standards.
4. Operational Supervision
Ensure proper and consistent implementation of Work Permits, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and Confined Space Entry management by all parties, including contractors and partners.
Conduct routine inspections of tools, equipment, vehicles, and building areas with medium to high hazard potential to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Analyze accidents/incidents and prepare corrective & preventive action reports in collaboration with relevant users.
5. Reporting & Regulatory Compliance
Synchronize activities and procedures related to Health & Safety.
Coordinate with HSE System, Legal & License teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Report plans and work outcomes regularly in Division and Mill meetings (as needed).
Authority:
Stop work activities deemed high-risk or non-compliant with safety procedures.
Organize and develop the Health & Safety team and Fire Brigade Team.
Determine training needs, fire protection equipment requirements, and Health & Safety budget allocations.
